Summary

This study tested whether an intravenous drug called SAGE-547 could quickly reduce severe depression in women suffering from postpartum depression. Twenty-one women within six months of giving birth were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo infusion. Researchers measured changes in depression and anxiety scores over 60 hours to see if the treatment was effective and safe.
