First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety and how the body processes a new antibiotic combination (Zidebactam-Cefepime) when given alone or with another antibiotic (metronidazole). Thirty healthy adults each received three different single-dose treatments in a crossover design. The goal was to measure drug levels and check for side effects, not to treat any disease.
