New drug combo shows promise for Tough-to-Treat leukemia

NCT ID NCT02632708

First seen May 24, 2026 ยท Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether adding AG-120 or AG-221 to standard chemotherapy is safe for people with a specific type of newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that has an IDH1 or IDH2 mutation. About 153 adults will receive the study drug alongside standard induction and consolidation therapy, and may continue taking it alone as maintenance until the disease returns, side effects become unacceptable, or they receive a stem cell transplant. The main goal is to track side effects and find the best dose for future studies.
