New pneumonia vaccine moves to human safety tests

Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new experimental vaccine (PG4) to see if it is safe and tolerable in adults. About 380 healthy volunteers will receive either the new vaccine, a similar vaccine, a standard pneumococcal vaccine, or a placebo. Participants will be followed for up to 18 months and will report any side effects and give blood samples.
