First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested a new surgical method for Whipple surgery (removal of part of the pancreas and small intestine) in 48 patients with resectable tumors. The technique uses a special stitch and a protective wrap of belly fat around the connection to lower the chance of leaks, bleeding, and stomach emptying problems. The goal was to make recovery safer and reduce serious complications.
