New breathing technique aims to make throat cancer scans safer and smoother

NCT ID NCT07004699

Summary

This study is testing if a newer method of delivering oxygen during throat, voice box, and food pipe exams is as safe and effective as the current standard. The goal is to see if using high-flow oxygen through a nasal cannula can reduce risks like bleeding and tooth damage for patients, while also giving surgeons a clearer view. Researchers will compare the two methods in 610 adults undergoing this common diagnostic procedure.
