New 'See-Through' needle could make keyhole surgery safer
NCT ID NCT07438132
Summary
This study tested a new type of surgical needle that uses a special imaging technology (OCT) to help surgeons see the different layers of the abdominal wall in real-time. The goal was to see if this tool could make the first step of laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery safer by helping avoid accidental injury. Twelve patients having planned laparoscopic surgery were included to see if the device worked and was safe to use.
