New surgical approach aims to prevent dangerous complications in gallbladder surgery
NCT ID NCT07137546
Summary
This study compared two surgical techniques for removing difficult gallbladders to see which is safer. Researchers tested whether starting surgery from the top of the gallbladder (fundus-first) reduces the risk of damaging bile ducts compared to the standard approach. The trial included 174 patients with challenging gallbladder conditions like severe inflammation or previous abdominal surgery.
