First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study will test if a gentle massage on the lower back (sacral area) can help reduce pain, anxiety, stress, and depression during childbirth. About 193 first-time mothers with a single, healthy baby will be randomly assigned to receive either the massage or standard care. Researchers will measure pain using a simple scale and check mood with a questionnaire.
