Running water sounds may ease anxiety during uncomfortable bladder exams

NCT ID NCT07451548

First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether playing recorded running water sounds during a bladder function test helps patients feel less anxious and improves test results. About 240 Chinese women with urinary symptoms will be randomly assigned to either listen to the sounds or have the test as usual. Researchers will measure anxiety levels and bladder function to see if this simple, drug-free approach makes the experience better.
