New pill combo aims to slash heart risks in diabetes patients

Summary

This study tests whether a new drug called obicetrapib, taken alone or combined with ezetimibe, can lower bad cholesterol more than a placebo in people with type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome. About 300 adults already on standard cholesterol therapy will take the study pills daily for 84 days. The goal is to see if the combination offers better cholesterol control to reduce heart disease risk.
