Viral therapy trial aims to fight rare, deadly eye cancer

Summary

This study is testing whether a new combination of an oncolytic virus therapy (RP2) and an immunotherapy drug (nivolumab) works better than the current standard immunotherapy combination for adults with metastatic uveal melanoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that starts in the eye. The goal is to see if the new combination helps patients live longer and keeps the cancer from growing. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatment combinations.
