No more shots? skin patch vaccine tested to fight deadly diarrhea virus

NCT ID NCT06962904

Summary

This is the first human study of a new rotavirus vaccine delivered by a skin patch instead of a shot. The goal is to test if this new method is safe and triggers an immune response in 50 healthy adults. If successful, this patch could lead to a more effective vaccine for infants in areas where current oral vaccines don't work as well. The study is early-stage (Phase 1) and focuses on safety and initial immune response.
