New study to test if bone-assisted tooth movement reduces root damage

NCT ID NCT07458139

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study will compare two methods of moving canine teeth after premolar extraction: one using a small surgical procedure (corticotomy) to assist movement, and the other using standard braces. Sixty patients aged 12-30 will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The main goal is to measure how much the tooth root shortens during treatment, using X-rays taken before and after.
