First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at 125 adults with deep tooth decay to see if using electronic devices (apex locators) versus dental X-rays to measure root canals changes pain after treatment. Participants were randomly assigned to one of five measurement methods, and none knew which was used. Pain was tracked for 48 hours. The goal was to find a way to reduce discomfort after root canal therapy.
