Vaping lung damage: new study reveals best ways to diagnose it

NCT ID NCT07499557

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 adults with vaping-related lung injury to see how well chest CT scans, ultrasound, and a lung fluid test (bronchoalveolar lavage) can diagnose the condition. The goal was to understand which tests work best and how they relate to hospital stay, ICU need, and death risk. The study did not test any treatment, only how to better identify the disease.
