First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study explores whether using a rocking chair after hip replacement surgery can help older adults recover better than sitting in a regular chair. Sixty people aged 65 and older will be randomly assigned to either rock or sit still after their operation. Researchers will measure how well the rocking is tolerated and if it eases pain, nausea, gas, and anxiety.
