Robot surgeons vs human hands: which is safer for gallbladder removal?

NCT ID NCT07119203

Summary

This study compares two types of minimally invasive surgery for removing a diseased gallbladder: robotic-assisted surgery and standard laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. Researchers will enroll 276 adults with non-cancerous gallbladder problems to see if the robotic approach is just as safe and leads to similar recovery as the standard method. The main goal is to check complication rates within 30 days after surgery, while also tracking recovery time, patient comfort, and overall costs.
