Robot surgeons vs. traditional knives: which is safer for removing Cyst-Filled kidneys?
NCT ID NCT07355114
Summary
This study is comparing two ways to surgically remove a diseased kidney in people with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Researchers want to see if a newer robotic-assisted surgery is as safe and effective as the traditional open surgery, particularly looking at recovery time and complications. They are studying 57 adult patients, most with severe kidney failure, who are having one kidney removed, often before or after a kidney transplant.
