Robot surgeons battle scars and scopes in hernia repair showdown

NCT ID NCT07275346

Summary

This study compares three ways to fix medium-to-large belly wall hernias: traditional open surgery, minimally invasive 'keyhole' (laparoscopic) surgery, and newer robot-assisted surgery. Researchers are looking at which method helps patients recover smoothly with fewer problems, shorter hospital stays, and lower chances of the hernia coming back. They will also check if the higher cost of robot surgery is worth it based on patient results.
