Robots in the OR: can they help you bounce back faster from heart surgery?
NCT ID NCT05430568
Summary
This study aims to compare how well patients recover their heart and lung fitness after two types of heart surgery: a newer, less invasive robotic-assisted procedure and the traditional open-chest method. It will follow 80 patients having either coronary artery bypass or valve replacement surgery. Researchers will measure fitness, walking ability, pain, and activity levels before and after surgery to see if one approach leads to better recovery.
