Robot heart surgery: does it help you breathe and move better?

NCT ID NCT05430568

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at how well the heart and lungs recover after two types of heart surgery: robot-assisted and traditional open-chest surgery. About 80 adults having bypass or valve surgery will take exercise and breathing tests before and after their operation. The goal is to see if robotic surgery leads to better physical recovery, not just fewer complications.
