First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether a therapeutic robot named PARO can help children aged 8 to 18 feel less anxious and depressed while staying in the intensive care unit (ICU). One group of kids will spend time with PARO, another with a stuffed seal toy, and a third will receive standard care. Researchers will measure changes in emotions and stress levels to see if the robot offers extra comfort.
