Swallow a robot pill for a painless gut check
NCT ID NCT04068480
Summary
This study is testing a new, pill-sized camera that is guided by magnets from outside the body to screen the esophagus and stomach without sedation. Researchers are comparing different swallowing methods to see which gives the best view of the esophagus, especially the area where it meets the stomach. The goal is to develop a more comfortable alternative to traditional tube-based endoscopy for 300 patients already scheduled for a small bowel capsule exam.
