Robot surgeon aims for steadier hands in heart valve procedures

NCT ID NCT07152574

Summary

This study is testing a new remote-controlled robot designed to help surgeons place replacement heart valves more precisely during a minimally invasive procedure called TAVR. The robot aims to provide steadier, more controlled movements than a surgeon's hand alone, potentially leading to more accurate valve placement. The trial will enroll 10 older adults with severe aortic valve narrowing to see if using the robot is safe and practical during their surgery.
