First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether rivaroxaban, a blood thinner that doesn't need frequent blood monitoring, works as well as warfarin for people with mechanical heart valves. Sixty adults who have had trouble with warfarin or lack access to regular blood tests will be followed for one year. The goal is to see if rivaroxaban can prevent dangerous clots and bleeding complications more conveniently.
