NCT ID NCT05533164

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether rituximab, a drug that calms the immune system, can help people with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) stop or reduce steroid use during a relapse. About 174 adults with PMR who cannot lower their steroid dose below 5 mg per day will receive either rituximab or a placebo. The main goal is to see if more people can achieve remission without steroids after one year.
