New pill trial aims to tame stubborn, painful scars

Summary
This study is testing whether a daily pill called ritlecitinib can help people with keloids—thick, raised scars that can be painful and itchy. The trial will see if the drug can prevent keloids from coming back after surgery and reduce symptoms in people who don't have surgery. About 30 adults with keloids that haven't improved with standard treatments will take the pill for 9 months.
