Rib repair riddle: does fixing more fractures lead to faster recovery?
NCT ID NCT07338656
Summary
This study aims to find out if fixing two breaks per rib leads to better recovery than fixing just one break in patients with serious, unstable chest wall injuries. Researchers will randomly assign 100 adults to receive one of these two surgical techniques, both using a muscle-sparing approach. They will then track patients' healing, pain levels, lung function, and risk of complications like pneumonia over a year to determine which method works best.
