Battle of the bone fixes: which surgery heals shattered thighs faster?
NCT ID NCT07542249
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026
Summary
This study compares two surgical techniques—a nail placed inside the bone versus two metal plates on the outside—for fixing severe fractures of the thigh bone just above the knee. About 40 adults with these complex breaks will be followed to see which method leads to better knee function and healing. The goal is to find the best approach for helping patients regain mobility and reduce pain after injury.
