Could a single infusion of 'Peacekeeper' cells let kidney transplant patients ditch most meds?
NCT ID NCT06552169
First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving patients a special type of immune cell (regulatory T cells, called TRK-001) after a kidney transplant can prevent organ rejection and allow them to safely reduce their anti-rejection drugs. About 34 adults receiving a kidney from a living donor will either get standard care or standard care plus one infusion of these cells. The goal is to see if the cell therapy helps the body accept the new kidney with fewer long-term medications.
