Eye dye could reveal hidden brain disease without invasive tests
NCT ID NCT05709314
First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests a single injection of AMDX-2011P, a dye that may stick to abnormal protein deposits in the eye's retina. These deposits are linked to cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), a condition where proteins build up in brain blood vessels, raising stroke risk. Researchers aim to see if the dye can safely and accurately detect CAA by simply looking at the retina, potentially offering a less invasive way to diagnose the disease. About 25 adults with CAA will participate.
