NCT ID NCT07027098

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a liquid called perfluorocarbon (PFCL) during retinal detachment surgery changes how the retina settles afterward. About 292 adults with a detached retina that affects central vision will be randomly assigned to have surgery with or without PFCL. Researchers will use eye scans and vision tests to see if PFCL reduces retinal shifting and improves visual quality.
