New camera peers into Retina's hidden cells

NCT ID NCT05643157

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of camera that can see the tiny cells in the back of the eye, called the retina. Current cameras can't show these cells clearly. Five people with retinal disease had their eyes scanned with this new camera to see if it could show more detail. The goal was to better understand how retinal cells change in disease, not to treat or cure anything.
