First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at 80 people with severe obesity who had sleeve gastrectomy surgery. Researchers measured a blood protein called resistin before surgery to see if it could predict how much dangerous internal belly fat they would lose 8 months later. The goal is to help doctors understand which patients will get the biggest health improvements from the procedure.
