New tooth treatment could brighten Kids' smiles and ease pain
NCT ID NCT07469124
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a tooth-colored resin treatment, with or without mild enamel abrasion, can improve the appearance and reduce sensitivity of front teeth in children aged 6-14 with molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH). Fifty-five children will receive the treatment and be followed for 12 months. The goal is to see if this minimally invasive approach improves their quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Resin infiltration (a tooth-colored resin applied to enamel lesions)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a minimally invasive way to improve the look and sensitivity of affected teeth in children, potentially boosting their quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 55 participants and no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The treatment may not fully resolve symptoms or last long-term.
