Device aims to shield kidneys during risky heart operations

NCT ID NCT06811805

Summary

This study is testing whether a device called RenalGuard can help prevent kidney injury in patients having heart surgery. It compares the device, which manages urine output during and after surgery, to standard care in 300 patients at risk for this complication. The goal is to see if the treatment lowers the rate of kidney injury in the days following surgery.
