Which sedative gets you off the breathing tube faster after liver surgery?

NCT ID NCT07611344

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two sedative drugs, remimazolam and propofol, to see which one helps patients wake up faster after laparoscopic liver surgery. About 82 adults aged 18-80 having this surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two drugs. The main goal is to measure how quickly the breathing tube can be removed after surgery, and researchers will also track side effects like nausea, low blood pressure, and sore throat.
