Summary

This study tested a drug called remimazolam for putting elderly patients (ages 60-75) to sleep during thyroid surgery. 60 patients were randomly assigned to receive either remimazolam or the standard drug propofol. The goal was to see if remimazolam could provide smoother, safer anesthesia with fewer side effects like unstable blood pressure or confusion after surgery.
