Anesthesia study probes Painkiller's brain impact

NCT ID NCT06237101

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how the painkiller remifentanil changes brain activity in 20 healthy adults (ages 18-60) having planned surgery. Participants will receive standard anesthesia with propofol and remifentanil. Researchers will measure brain waves to see if remifentanil helps propofol produce a deep sleep pattern called burst suppression. The goal is to better understand how these drugs work together.
