Device aims to free kids from IV feeding tubes

NCT ID NCT05635747

Summary

This study is observing children with short bowel syndrome for an extra 90 days to see if a device called Relizorb is safe and helps them absorb fat from tube feeding. The device attaches to a feeding tube and predigests fat, which could help kids rely less on risky intravenous (IV) nutrition. The goal is to see if continued use helps reduce the calories they need from IV feeding and supports healthy weight.
