Chilling out: simple tricks to ease agony of tube removal after heart surgery
NCT ID NCT07248085
Summary
This study is testing if two simple, drug-free methods can make it easier for patients to have a chest tube removed after heart surgery. Researchers will teach patients a quick breathing and muscle relaxation exercise and apply a cold pack to the area before the tube is pulled out. They want to see if this combination reduces the sharp pain and anxiety many people feel during this common procedure and improves their overall satisfaction with care.
