Do patients really need rehab after joint surgery? new study challenges common practice
NCT ID NCT04960241
Summary
This study aimed to find out if formal physical rehabilitation helps people recover better after hip or knee replacement surgery, or if no structured rehab is just as good. It involved 169 patients in Denmark who were randomly assigned to receive either a rehab program (including home-based or video-guided sessions) or no formal rehab. The main goal was to see which approach led to better daily function, less pain, and higher patient satisfaction.
