Doctors test new plan to fight ear infections without overusing antibiotics
NCT ID NCT06034080
Summary
This study aims to reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions for children with common ear infections. It will compare two clinic-wide approaches: one focuses on doctor education and feedback, while the other adds a shared decision-making tool for parents. The goal is to increase parent satisfaction, safely cut antibiotic use, and align care with national guidelines that often recommend watchful waiting instead of immediate medication.
