New breathing tube could mean less sore throat after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT07117539

Summary

This study tested two different types of breathing tubes used during lung surgery to see which one causes less throat pain and hoarseness afterward. Researchers compared a newer visual bronchial blocker with a standard double-lumen tube in 270 patients having lung tumor surgery. The main goal was to see if the newer method could reduce these common post-surgery discomforts while still allowing surgeons to work effectively.
