First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tested whether simple psychological techniques and cold therapy (cryoanalgesia) could reduce pain and anxiety during arterial punctures in 120 critically ill, conscious adults. Patients rated their pain on a 0-10 scale and anxiety using a standard questionnaire. The goal was to find a drug-free way to make this common procedure more comfortable.
