Chatbots vs. humans: the battle to keep people out of the ER
NCT ID NCT06818825
Summary
This study aims to reduce unnecessary emergency room visits by people who go frequently. After an ER visit, participants are randomly assigned to receive either a follow-up phone call from a health worker or an automated chatbot message. Both methods provide information about alternative places to get care and resources to manage health outside the emergency room. Researchers will track if either approach helps people avoid returning to the ER unnecessarily.
