Could a simple treatment help First-Time moms avoid C-Sections?
NCT ID NCT00930618
Summary
This large study tested whether a vaginal medication (isosorbide mononitrate) could help prepare the cervix for labor in first-time mothers whose pregnancies went past 41 weeks. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce the need for cesarean sections. Over 1,400 women participated in this completed Phase 3 trial.
