First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether magnesium sulfate can reduce confusion and agitation after ear, nose, or throat surgery as well as a standard sedative called dexmedetomidine. 64 adults received one of the two drugs during surgery. The goal was to see if magnesium causes fewer side effects while still keeping patients calm during recovery.
