Summary
This study aims to understand how long red blood cells survive in people with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and other inherited blood disorders. Researchers will label a small sample of a participant's own blood cells with a safe vitamin (biotin) and track them over several months. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help improve future treatments, including gene therapies and transplants.
